Phnom Penh, June 10, 2025 – The Royal Government of Cambodia has officially established a national committee to prepare legal documentation for filing a case with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague. The move follows ongoing tensions with Thailand over a longstanding border dispute involving the Mom Tei area and three ancient temples: Ta Moan Thom, Ta Moan Toch, and Ta Krabey.
This strategic decision reflects Cambodia’s intent to seek international legal resolution amid rising calls for diplomatic and peaceful settlement. The committee will be responsible for gathering historical evidence, legal documents, and expert testimonies to support Cambodia’s claims.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to preserving national sovereignty through legal and peaceful mechanisms and called on both parties to exercise restraint and adhere to international norms.
